Rush
Standing there at one side
Of a highway
Rush everywhere, Cars speeding into infinity
Lights glimmering like a hundred thousand swords
A witness
To the life passing by, rather flying byAn almost inhaled sigh
Paused midway to catch a breath
The heart
Turning into a stone with time
Burned alive a hundred times,
A charcoal piece, fiery, shiny
Hot as fire, hard as a rock
Slowly very slowly, carefully
Cooling one dot at a time
Healing one fine crack at a time.
The world has to rush
For if it stops, our hearts would freeze
By the time
It might take one slow breath
To complete its task.
