A trek towards the Glacier – an ode to nature
The clearest takeaway from this adventure is
the way I was within throughout the trek. Not an exact takeaway, but this is
what remains even after four days. It felt calm, though tough or challenging at
times, the views were completely compensating for everything else. The
mountains! The nearer one gets to, farther it goes! It is as if an illusion in
space and time. The feeling I got by witnessing the majestic beauty will remain with me for a long time. We were 7 people, took part in this act of pushing oneself to
test our limits. We walked, talked, cooked and stayed together on a thundery
rainy cool night amidst the rocky uphill, at the banks of Awa khad. Satchali
was within 1 km, but I could not make it. The next morning lead us to the
nearest glacier though. It was covered with ice, walkable – hollow watery, yet
very strong. I am improving my ability to roam around freely. Yet what about
many other things, like health/strength, mindfulness, and gratitude? I have
been reflecting on these, there are sparks of changes, but I look forward to a
day where I will be the happiest about all of it!
